About Vet

42 Years young with lots of life experience! Lived and breathed animals since I can remember and still can’t get enough of them! I work at a practice but due to my joint issue, I can only work part time – those big bouncy loveable dogs are a lot of work!

I have now worked online as a video/telephone vet for a year so I have a lot of experience to get the most out of online consults. I used to run a practice so I have spent a lot of time perfecting the client experience to ensure a great reputation. I have a big client following in my area, I love the bonds I create with my clients, helping their pets from their first puppy consult to helping make the right decision at the end.

I have a special interest in sled dogs as I used to race them at a high level – all the way to the World Championships winning a silver in the 4 dog class! Oh, and a Gold in the European Championships on my scooter with one dog! Good times! I have also been the head vet at many British races and World and European Championships, here I have learnt a lot about the dog as an athlete.

I have many areas of interest, there is no aspect of Vet medicine that I don’t enjoy! I am an avid learner and attend lots of CPD (classes to improve my knowledge) so that I can make sure I am doing the best by my patients. My 3 top interests include…

  1. Musculo-skeletal issues, especially looking after and doing the best for our oldies.
  2. Dermatology – A complex area that I love to advise on.
  3. Behaviour - Working and owning 23 dogs, has given me experience in all manners of dog behaviour. This knowledge I use with my patients to great effect on a daily basis.

I have a vast knowledge from 12 years as a vet but I don’t claim to know everything. I will happily look something up if necessary for the benefit of my patient. Science is changing everyday and I like to make sure I am up to date. My expertise lies with dogs and cats. However, having spent 2 years in Africa working with Wildlife, I also have an affinity towards exotic animals.
