Introducing: New VetsterRx features save time!
At Vetster, we’re always looking for ways to improve the quality of care pets receive and compliance around prescriptions. We understand that the directives veterinarians provide are critical to promoting overall pet health, so we strive to continuously improve VetsterRx and streamline your prescribing process.
For US veterinarians, product selection using VetsterRx’s integrated search tools provides a direct pathway to in-app online ordering and home delivery for clients, making it easier for them to follow through on your medical recommendations. While home delivery is the default, clients still have the option to fill prescriptions for products selected with the search tools elsewhere, if preferred.
Prescription information and product recommendations can also be entered manually into VetsterRx. Manual entry is available in addition to the integrated search tools for veterinarians in the US. It is the standard workflow for those practicing in Canada and the UK. Manual entry offers the flexibility to support client preferences, while still leveraging the benefits of VetsterRx, including streamlined medical records maintenance and an efficient pathway to fulfillment. This helps ensure your clients can act on your recommendations with confidence.
We’ve recently introduced upgrades that simplify the entire process — saving you time and helping your clients access what they need, faster.
What’s new
We’ve upgraded the client-facing side of our app to provide clients with improved transparency and flexibility on fulfillment options for the prescriptions and product recommendations you enter into VetsterRx.
- Clients can enter their pharmacy of choice to their profile, right within the app.
- Vetster processes prescriptions on your behalf, sending them to the client’s preferred pharmacy.
- Clients in the US can view estimated shipping times and prices for online ordering and home delivery directly within the app when you select products using the integrated search tools in VetsterRx.
Why this matters
Your time is valuable! With these improvements, there’s no need to call prescriptions in yourself or reach out to Vetster’s support team to do it for you. Once you enter the necessary information into VetsterRx, we handle the rest! This streamlines the process, supports faster fulfillment, and reduces the need for back-and-forth communication with pharmacies.
For your clients, we are providing flexible options to ensure they can get their medication as quickly as possible and/or from their preferred pharmacy. This improves compliance with your care plan and will be noted in their file.
What you need to know
US veterinarians: For optimal platform performance, start by using the search bar or click on the smart product suggestions to expand search results and select from our expansive catalog of prescription medications, diets, and over-the-counter (OTC) pet care products. This may also provide opportunities to increase your earning potential with Vetster. Double check to ensure you’ve selected the correct strength, formulation, and quantity and follow the prompts to enter all required information. Let your clients know that they’ll have transparency about the options for online ordering or local pick-up on their side of the app. They should follow through with the prescription as quickly as possible for speedy fulfillment.
Enter prescriptions manually if you can’t find what you need using the search features, or if they aren’t an option because you’re in the UK or Canada. As always, double check to ensure you’ve entered complete and accurate information. Follow the prompts, and submit. Let clients know to enter their preferred pharmacy if they haven’t already, and reassure them the Vetster support team will take it from there.

After the appointment, you can track the status of each prescription in real time: labels such as "Requested," "In Progress," or "Sent to Pharmacy" will appear once the client takes action. If no label is present, the client has yet to make a request. For more details, simply hover or tap on the status label.
