1. Lock 15 Brewing Co.
Lock 15 Brewing is a brewpub that serves amazing American dishes, like smoked wings, pretzels, and burgers. Dogs are allowed on the patio, which is covered by a large tent. Under atmospheric string lights, you and your dog can enjoy large seats and wide spaces between tables. If you’re worried your dog might make a mess, make sure to ask for a seat at the front of the patio when you make your reservation, since the back has gravel and it may be harder to clean up messes.
2. Valley Cafe Restaurant
Valley Cafe Restaurant is the place to go for breakfast and brunch after a morning walk with your dog. Their fenced dog-friendly patio faces the parking lot, and though it may look small, there is plenty of room for multiple dogs, especially if you’re alone at the table. All dogs are welcome so long as they are leashed and friendly.
3. D’Agnese’s at White Pond
D'Agnese's is an Italian restaurant with a casual yet upscale atmosphere. This restaurant doesn’t allow dogs on their patio year-round. They only do so on Tuesday nights between April and September. Their seasonal “Dogs on the Patio” nights are definitely something that you and your dog won’t want to miss because that’s when D’Agnese’s rolls out their special doggy menu so your pet can feast right alongside you.
4. Nervous Dog Coffee Bar
You and your dog will feel anything but nervous at Nervous Dog Coffee Bar. The cafe has a small, disconnected patio next to the parking lot where you and your dog can enjoy the weather. This open patio is perfect for dogs that love to be outdoors and observe their environment. It is a relatively small area, so you may have trouble finding space for your big dog, especially if there are other patrons on the patio.
5. Missing Falls Brewery
Missing Falls Brewery is a sports bar with all the classic staples of a traditional American bar. They have a spacious outdoor seating area right in front of the establishment, and there’s more than enough room for small dogs, big dogs, or a whole pack of dogs! The tables are high and patrons sit on stools, so there’s no space for your dog to sit at the table with you. However, they’ll have no trouble settling under and around the stools.
Eat with your dog at local dog-friendly restaurants in Akron
Even though many restaurants are dog-friendly, your pet still needs to be on its best behavior while you’re eating. If you feel like your dog isn’t properly socialized or if they may make a large mess, you should avoid going to restaurants until your dog is better trained. Training your dog to behave at a restaurant may seem like a difficult task, but you can book a virtual vet appointment with a Vetster veterinarian for guidance and training tips.
