We've put together an overview of the presentations and concerns that can be seen by a veterinarian and a technician on Vetster to help you determine which veterinary professional best suits your needs.

Appointments with Veterinarians

Appointments with veterinarians on Vetster are consults with a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Veterinarians can be seen for a comprehensive medical appointment including prescriptions, in states and provinces where available. Veterinarians through Vetster Medical can treat the following:

• Excessive scratching & hair loss
• Ear discharge, odor, or pain
• Worms & fleas
• Frequent urination & blood in the urine
• Vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation
• Coughing or sneezing
• Palliative & hospice care
• Toxin ingestion & triage
• Limping or pain
• And much more!

Appointments with Technicians

Appointments with licensed, certified, and registered veterinary technicians are consults with Vetster Wellness Coaches. Through these appointments, you can gain further insight into your pet’s health care journey as well as learn more about preventative wellness. It is important to note that prescriptions are not available from Vetster Wellness appointments. Veterinary technicians can help with the following:

• Potty training
• Lifestage nutrition
• Training & guidance
• Grooming advice
• Weight loss counseling
• Diet supplements
• Preventative wellness
• And more!

All appointments are video, voice and chat enabled with licensed veterinary professionals. Both veterinarians and technicians are able to perform teletriage, where the veterinary professional is able to suggest whether or not asking clients need to take their pet to an emergency clinic immediately, or if their concern can be seen tomorrow/at a later date. Teletriage often gives clients peace of mind knowing they made the right decision in seeking in-person care or holding off if their concern is not an emergency.
