Dr. Michelle Lapera was born and raised in New York. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware, where she studied Animal Science and Biology. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (VMD) at the University of Pennsylvania and has been practicing in northern Virginia for the past 11 years, treating dogs and cats. Her areas of interests include: preventative medicine, emergency medicine, dentistry, and surgery. Her goal is to provide quality care for each pet and their family.

Outside of work, Dr. Lapera enjoys hiking and traveling. She has 4 dogs-a 14 year old Husky named Bella, a 9 year old Lab mix named Chance, a 7 year old Collie mix named Marbles, and a Husky puppy named Mika.

This was our 2nd visit with Dr. Lapera. She is incredibly sweet, caring and very knowledgeable. My German Shepherd, Kali, was in immense distress suffering from allergies, painful hot spots from constant scratching and had nearly lost most of her hair on her lower back. Dr. Lapera treated Kali with the perfect combination of medications and within a couple of weeks, I have my beautiful Kali back with all of her hair and virtually no itching! I highly recommend this provider. She is very personable and you don’t feel weird and uncomfortable like you do during other telehealth visits. We will definitely visit with her again!
