About Vet

I have been practicing clinical veterinary medicine for approximately 20 years. I received my MS in avian sciences from UCDavis and my DVM from UCDavis. I then completed my certification in aquatic veterinary medicine with an emphasis in aquarium collections such as amphibian, aquatic reptiles, and aquatic birds in 2020. I have spent my 20 years working in private practice, zoos/aquariums, wildlife centers, and shelters. So you could say I have a very eclectic background which gives me some great insight into the various behaviors and husbandry needs of our fur, feathered, and scaled "children". I understand their needs not just from a medical stand point when things go wrong but also from an every day preventative medicine approach. I have been fortunate to travel to some of the areas that our exotic animals live and so I have studied these animals in their native habitats and that has given me great insight into their everyday needs to prevent medical problems.

What I love about telemedicine is it eliminates the fear factor and allows me to see your family member in their environment. This often provides me with valuable information that I would never get in the clinic, that will assist me in helping you with whatever concerns or questions you may have during our appointment together.

My areas of interest that would relate to Vetster telehealth/medicine are: Amphibians, Birds, Cats, Rabbits, Reptiles, Rodents, and Dogs limited to preventative medicine, dermatology, behavior, and certain aging related questions such as best arthritis medical management options. I love being a veterinarian and sharing my passion and knowledge of these animals. I have been doing telemedicine/telehealth in some capacity for the past 13 years but I am new to Vetster. I look forward to getting to know you and your furred, feathered, or scaled family member.
