About Vet

Dr. Edwards received her doctorate from Colorado State University in 2006 and has pursued a variety of professional interests since. Originally starting her veterinary career caring for injured wildlife, Dr. Edwards moved onward to also work in private practice with companion dogs, cats, and exotic animals for the human-animal bond experience. After a very busy and tale-worthy 5 year stay in New York City, she decided to settle down in Seattle, WA, while continuing to travel with the intent of utilizing her experience and knowledge to provide care where needed. During the course of her career, she has had the diverse experience as a wildlife rehabilitator and consultant, certified captive restraint bearer, house call veterinarian, shelter and rescue veterinarian, emergency veterinarian, animal rights spokesperson, “veterinarian” on television, periodical content editor, newspaper column contributor, and opinionated animal advocate under all circumstances.

Dr. Edwards' professional interests and expertise include geriatric medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, animal behavior, exotic animal medicine, and wildlife conservation medicine. She is also experienced in hospice care for terminally ill pets and values her ability to assist both humans and animals alike in these difficult cases. Senior pets are especially dear to her heart!

Her belief and motivation in veterinary medicine is the continual pursuit of knowledge and education to better serve the animals in her care. She is currently working towards certification in veterinary acupuncture through the CHI University and has recently been awarded a Masters in Conservation Medicine from the University of Edinburgh Royal Dick College of Veterinary Medicine.

When not working, Dr. Edwards enjoys traveling, camping, music, writing, photography, martial arts, and a good horror movie. She shares her home with her partner Michael and their harmonious colony of treasured rescue animals.
