Dr. Danielle Davignon

I have been practicing veterinary medicine since 2008, first in general practice, and then I completed a residency in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University in 2015. I am a board-certified specialist in small animal internal medicine (Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DACVIM-SAIM)) currently practicing in New York State. Internal medicine specialists focus on treating pets with chronic medical conditions such as: endocrine diseases (diabetes, Cushing's disease, thyroid conditions), gastrointestinal disease (inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, protein-losing enteropathy, chronic vomiting or diarrhea, etc.) liver, kidney, and immune-mediated diseases. We also specialize in figuring out what is wrong with pets with chronic, undiagnosed illness (solving medical mysteries!) I have a particular interest in liver diseases, hematologic (blood), and auto-immune diseases. For me, the most important part of my job is educating pet owners about chronic health conditions in their pets and assisting them in choosing the best treatments so their pets can have good quality of life. Many chronic diseases cannot be 'cured' but with good treatment and a good relationship with a veterinarian, we can provide pets with chronic diseases with a good quality of life.
