Dr. Cecilia Vieira

Hi, I’m Cecilia 👋

I’ve been a vet for 19 years, and during that time I’ve had the privilege of looking after a huge variety of dogs, cats and small furries, from the cheekiest puppies and kittens to much-loved older pets with more complicated medical needs.

My career has taken me from busy general practices to a large hospital in Sussex, and since 2021 I’ve also worked in online veterinary teletriage and advice. I love the combination of clinical problem-solving and talking to owners, particularly when I can help turn a worrying situation into something that feels a little more manageable.

I have a special interest in internal medicine and dermatology and hold a certificate in diagnostic ultrasound. I’m naturally curious, so I enjoy those cases where you have to put the clues together and work out what’s really going on!

But I think being a good vet is about more than qualifications and experience. Pets are family, and I want the people I speak to to feel that their concerns are being listened to, their questions are welcome, and their pet is being treated as an individual.

Outside the clinic, I’m happiest cooking, getting outdoors, exploring somewhere new or squeezing in a bit of exercise when I can. I’m a big believer in keeping life balanced — although I’m still working on that one!
