Welcome! I'm a 25-year career veterinary nurse currently making my home in Nashville, TN. I've practiced veterinary telehealth since March 2020 and am thrilled at the opportunity to join this new platform!
My practice has ranged from Primary Care (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and other exotics) to Multi-Specialty( ER/ICU, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Internal Medicine) Nursing, and from Home-Based Pet Hospice Nursing and Case Management to Management of Direct Patient Care in settings that include Hospital, Sanctuary, and Wildlife Rehabilitation facilities.
Years of conducting independent phone and video Pet Hospice Consults in support of a home-based practice have been an invaluable asset to me as I've transitioned into Veterinary Telehealth.
I earned an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Oklahoma State University and a BA in Letters from the University of Oklahoma, along with externships in Intensive Care Nursing at Boren Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Environmental Enrichment Therapy at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Each year I complete a minimum of 12 hours of state-mandated Continuing Education to maintain my license to practice in good standing.
When not practicing veterinary nursing, I enjoy being creative with photography, music production, and graphic design. I like cooking, spending time outdoors, and just recently, playing chess again. My home is typically filled with pets and houseplants, music and of late, the subtle struggles of my book writing effort.
