Dr. Karima Phillips is originally from Dublin, a small suburb in the San Francisco Bay Area. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara before attending the University of California, Davis where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Following graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship program at a large hybrid general practice/specialty/emergency hospital in Loomis, CA, before relocating and working full time at VCA Timberlyne Animal Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Her professional interests include internal medicine, urgent care, analgesia and chronic pain management, and behavior.
Outside of work, Dr. Phillips enjoys road biking, hiking, traveling internationally, wine and craft beer tasting, and tending to her herb garden. She lives in Raleigh with her husband Jonathan and their two Boston terriers, Benny and Scarlet.
