I was born and raised in Port Coquitlam, BC. I grew up with cats and horses in my life, and always wanted to be a veterinarian! I attended Simon Fraser University for my bachelor of science degree in biology. After this, I moved to Saskatoon, SK for 4 years where I attended vet school at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, I was matched to an incredible internship in New York City. There, I had an intense year working the Emergency department, and rotating through the specialties. When my internship was completed, I was head hunted to work at a busy 24/7 ER and specialty hospital in Seattle, WA. I worked ER for 2 years, before switching to general practice and urgent care. Having the experience in ER, GP and urgent care, has made me a confident and well rounded doctor.
I am now back in Vancouver, the most beautiful city in the world. I see Vetster as a way to really help pets and pet owners when they may not have any other options.
I am currently getting certified in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine and specifically acupuncture. I am excited to be able to add this new tool to my doctors tool kit!
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my cats (Trig and Sweets) and watching re-runs of friends. I also enjoy traveling, working out and spending time with friends. My goal for life, and my career, is to find an avenue where I can actively make a difference in pets lives and give back to the community with a focus on One Health.
