About Vet

Dr. Sorrick has over 6 experience in small animal general practice and emergency medicine. She is available for telehealth - general discussions including answering questions and providing information about managing illnesses or providing optimal wellness care, discussing care of aging pets, and helping you decide if and when your pet needs to see an in-person veterinarian. In California, veterinarians cannot legally diagnose a new illness or prescribe any medications via telehealth due to state laws; hence in California, Vetster cannot be used as a replacement for an in-person examination by a veterinarian. If your pet needs medications or treatments, please call your local veterinary hospital or a local mobile-care home visit veterinarian.

Dr. Sorrick attended Iowa State University's veterinary school and graduated in 2015. She has worked in emergency medicine and primary care in San Diego, CA, Portland, OR, and Orange County, CA. She currently works part time as a relief veterinarian for hospitals who need extra help in Orange County and offers limited telehealth advice hours as an extra convenience for pet owners through Vetster.

Outside of veterinary work, Dr. Sorrick is an artist (see some of her work available at ) and outdoors enthusiast. In particular she loves to rock climb and hike. In fact, both painting and rock climbing have served as a form of physical and mental therapy which helped her resume veterinary practice after she developed a chronic neuropathy and depression in 2021. Dr. Sorrick has a special interest in helping people prepare to safely (and healthily) enjoy the outdoors with their pets in all manners of adventures big and small, as well as empathy for and interest in supporting individuals struggling with daily chronic illness or disability to care for their pets.

At present, I am based out of in Irvine, CA, with my loving partner Michael and cuddle-bug cat "Oofta" ("Oofta; Interjection. A mild expression of error, dismay, or concern (often in a comical sense)" - Wiktionary). If you have read this far, that tells me you truly care who your veterinarian telehealth provider is! My appointment availability is limited, so please book now if you are interested in a discussion concerning the health and well being of your pet.
