Tracy Carter is a veterinarian experienced in canine sports medicine, pain management, rehabilitation and preventative care . She believes in focusing on the total health of your dog from puppy vaccination, to veteran partner.
An agility competitor and avid dog lover for over twenty years, Tracy went to veterinary school with a focus on finding the best solutions for our canine companion's health. She stays up to date on the latest recommendations for their care, nutrition, and training.
Through Prehabvet, she is passionately involved in sports medicine, agility coaching, and movement health, using extensive experience in managing post-surgical cases, athletes, osteoarthritis and soft tissue injury. Tracy focuses on the individual and their environment for the best possible outcome, with experience in treatment modalities ranging from acupuncture to hydrotherapy.
She recognises the home environment can be an ideal first port-of-call for your questions, developing the next steps, and helping you understand your pet's health. Consultations can be focused on learning about your pet's movement pattern, talking about tips for managing osteoarthritis, or puppy development - no question is too small.
Please note, veterinarians are unable to provide prescriptive-only medications through remote consultations in accordance with RCVS Regulations. We can, however provide advice on any over-the-counter products that may be useful, or discuss when a visit to your in-person practice is best.
Tracy regularly lectures for colleagues, has worked in high-volume referral practice, and on interdisciplinary teams. She has also has led development of canine mobility protocols and gait analysis through teleconsultation throughout the pandemic. She is a member of the BVRSMA and IAVRPT.
