I worked as a conference interpreter (Russian and English) and as a university professor of philosophy before turning my love of science and animals into a profession. I have been a veterinarian for 13 years, 10 of them spent as a locum travelling to various areas of British Columbia and learning something new from each practice I work at. My particular interests are in feline and rabbit medicine. (Note: I am NOT a feline or exotics specialist. Specialization requires additional learning beyond a veterinary degree, and passing an exam to receive board certification in that area of practice.) In my free time I advocate for including rabbit medicine in required veterinary education and in general small animal practice, write fiction as well as articles for veterinary journals, work on my homestead, and enjoy the antics of my four pet rabbits.
