( I will see dogs and cats only please) (I can not legally prescribe medications)
For as long as I can remember, animals have always been an important part of my family. As a child, I had a natural ability to care for a variety of pets like dogs, cats and rabbits. It was not uncommon for me to bring home a stray puppy and I had a knack for encouraging other family members to adopt these stray pets. Everyone who met me assumed I would grow up to be a veterinarian and I continued down this path by completing my Bachelors of Education and Animal Sciences degrees at the University of Alberta.
From there, I was able to combine my love of travel while obtaining my veterinary education. I graduated the veterinary program at St. Georges University in the Caribbean and spent my clinical year at University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. This international education has allowed me to appreciate all kinds of human-pet bonds and levels of medical care.
Even though I loved the Caribbean sun, home is home, and I returned to Canada to work. I spent two years practicing at the local Humane Society as a shelter Veterinarian, and then pursued my love of Emergency Medicine at a 24 hour emergency hospital. After that my time has been dedicated to my clients and patients in private practice.
My special interests are in radiology and ultrasound. I also enjoy dentistry, dermatology, pain management, and rehabilitation.
