I am proud to share that I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician for over a decade in the province of Ontario. I have extensive experience with cats and dogs, of all breeds and sizes. I also have special experience with ferrets, rabbits and backyard chickens. I have fully embraced telehealth and have been conducting virtual or phone consultations for the majority of my career. I look forward to helping you help your pet from the comfort of your home!
I enjoy helping my clients navigate the confusing world of pet nutrition, and helping pets to live their very best lives through their nutrition. I am a passionate Veterinary Technician Specialist in Nutrition and an active member of the Academy of Veterinary Nutrition Technicians and the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Nutrition. Working at the Ontario Veterinary College, I also enjoy providing the next generation of veterinarians and RVTs with the skills they need to thrive in their careers. I have helped thousands of pets meet their ideal body weight through the implementation and management of successful weight loss programs.
Beyond nutrition, I also have a special interest in pet behavior, including preventing and fixing misbehavior and bringing home that new family member! In my free time, I enjoy training my own dogs for sport competition and foster dogs for service work.
An additional unique skill that I offer is helping pets and families of special needs pets. My love for animals has often followed me home! I am a trained in the fitting of pet mobility products and have fostered or adopted pets with additional challenges, striving to help them live life to the fullest. I have extensive experience living with pets special needs, such as visual or hearing impairments, paralysis, incontinence and extra-normal characteristics.
If you are a new breeder or foster parent to a new or expectant mother, I also have extensive experience and knowledge of canine and feline reproduction, ovulation timing, artificial or natural insemination, orphaned animal care and midwifery. Most importantly, I can help your new family member get their best start to life by helping you with the care of your new puppy or kitten.
Client communication has always been a core skill that I have worked hard to hone and continually improve. Few things are more challenging that facing a complex or serious health challenge with your pet. I know that the last thing a pet parent needs is to be bogged down by medical lingo and a lack of empathy. I can help you navigate this complex world by taking the time you need to fully understand your pet's needs.
